Adoption and foster care are essential resources in our world, giving countless children a chance at stability and love. But even with the best intentions, the systems are far from perfect. Not only are the systems flawed, there are documented psychological problems that adoptees deal with throughout their lives. There are deep challenges that need to be addressed for them to truly support children and families in a healthy way.
My idea is to raise awareness: to make the hidden struggles of adoption and foster care more visible. I want to share the realities adoptees face, not just the good, but also the emotional and psychological challenges.
Using my skills in design and coding, combined with my love for collage and mixed media art, I plan to create an interactive website; a space where stories, resources, and education come together. This project will not only inform the public but also build empathy and community support around those impacted by adoption and foster care.
Ultimately, my goal is to spark understanding and connection—to help people see beyond statistics and systems, and instead, see the people whose lives are shaped by them.
